A personal project I made during an internship with Cardamon House in Beirut, Lebanon (May–June 2019). At the time, Cardamon House had their studio in a collective space called The Mansion, located in Zuquq al-Blat, Beirut. The story of this mansion interested me, especially because locals had re-created it as a collaborated space for people to rent studios, study in free communal areas, use the library, host poetry or exhibition nights, or relax in the garden. Such a space attracted the most interesting people.
I like to think there is more to what the eye can see, and this series explores that in a simple way using shapes and moving objects within and around the window in Cardamon House, the shelves of the library and the well walked stairs that encourage just one person at a time.
